It’s been announced this evening that the Cork City ‘Park by Phone’ service has suffered a data breach and users personal information has been obtained by a third party.

In a statement sent this evening to customers, ParkMagic stated that a breach had occurred, however, are reassuring users that no bank account, credit/debit card information, account balances or passwords was accessed.

Information that may have been compromised:

  • Car registrations
  • Mobile Phone Numbers
  • Email Addresses

“We wish to advise our customers that a data breach of the Cork City Park by Phone service has occurred.

No personal bank account or credit/ debit card details were accessed, no account balances were altered and no passwords were compromised. However, it is possible that other personal data such as car registrations, mobile numbers and email addresses may have been accessed.

This breach has now been addressed and the relevant authorities have been notified (Data Protection Commissioner and An Garda Siochana) and further detailed investigations are underway.
