Bus Éireann has announced significant service disruptions in Galway and Cork due to adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Bert. A Status Red Weather Warning for rain has been issued by Met Éireann, covering the period from 12:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, 23 November 2024.

Following an assessment of weather data and expected impacts, several Bus Éireann routes on the western side of both counties have been cancelled. Passengers travelling on other routes in Cork and Galway should expect delays, though these services are scheduled to operate as normal.

Services Affected

The following services are cancelled:

Friday, 22 November

Route 270:

  • Skibbereen/Killarney: 18:00hrs from Killarney will operate to Kenmare only.
  • Killarney/Skibbereen: 21:40hrs from Killarney cancelled.

Saturday, 23 November

Route 236:

  • Bantry/Cork: 07:00hrs from Bantry cancelled.
  • Glengarriff/Cork: 09:35hrs from Glengarriff cancelled.
  • Cork/Castletownbere: 08:30hrs from Cork cancelled.

Route 237:

  • Skibbereen/Cork: 06:45hrs from Skibbereen cancelled.
  • Goleen/Cork: 07:50hrs from Goleen cancelled.

Route 270:

  • Killarney/Skibbereen: 09:00hrs from Killarney cancelled.
  • Skibbereen/Killarney: 06:00hrs from Skibbereen cancelled.
  • Bantry/Skibbereen: 08:00hrs from Bantry cancelled.

Services prior to 10:00hrs will operate between Killarney and Glenflesk only.

Route 279:

Tralee/Killarney: Services prior to 10:00hrs will operate directly via the N22, bypassing Milltown and Killorglin.

Route 434:

  • Clifden/Westport: 07:05hrs and 09:05hrs from Clifden cancelled.
  • Westport/Clifden: 07:10hrs and 09:10hrs from Westport cancelled.
