Bus Éireann has announced the addition of two new stops on its Expressway Route 51 service from Cork to Galway. The villages of Rathduff and New Twopothouse in County Cork will benefit from 14 daily services once the new timetable commences on Sunday, 5 December. The bus stop at Rathduff is on the N20 south of the Old Halfway House and the bus stop at New Twopothouse is outside the local Post Office.

We are delighted to announce the addition of two new stops on our Expressway Route 51 service in Cork, at Rathduff and New Twopothouse, said Eleanor Farrell, Chief Commercial Officer, Bus Éireann. As part of Bus Éireann’s ongoing commitment to making better connections between cities, towns and villages across Ireland, we are constantly looking for opportunities to improve our services to reach growing communities. These two new stops on our Expressway Route 51 service will provide 14 daily connections from Rathduff and New Twopothouse to Cork city and Limerick city and 12 daily services to Shannon Airport, Ennis and Galway.

I want to thank Bus Éireann for their decision to add the villages of Rathduff and New Twopothouse to their Expressway Route 51 services beginning on Sunday, 5 December, said local Councillor Liam Madden (FG). As a Councillor, this issue has always been of huge importance to me and the communities I represent, especially as I am from a rural background myself and understand the importance of frequent, reliable public transport to get to work and college, to the airport and to access services in nearby cities and towns. I want to thank everyone involved in this process including Bus Éireann, the National Transport Authority and Cork County Council. The connections that the two new stops will facilitate to surrounding towns, villages, to Shannon Airport and to the cities of Cork, Limerick and Galway are incredibly important for these two communities along the N20.
