Gardaí have arrested a juvenile in his mid-teens in relation to a robbery at a shop on Parnell Place on the 2nd September 2019.

Shortly after 15:30, Gardaí in Anglesea Street received a report after a male armed with what is believed to be a hockey stick entered a shop on Parnell Place, threatened staff, and left the scene with a sum of cash.

A description of the suspect was circulated to Gardaí on patrol in the area and he was arrested near the scene. He was detained at Bridewell Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been released. A file will be prepared under the Juvenile Diversion Programme
