Forecasters are expecting overnight lows of -2°C and risk of possibly hail, sleet and isolated thunderstorms. Met Eireann say it will be “a cold night; frost and icy patches will form as temperatures drop between -2 and +2 degrees.”

Egis Lagan, Motorway Maintenance have informed us that gritters will be out in force tonight with precautionary gritting starting at 21:00 (9pm.)

Routes gritted by Egis Lagan:

The South Ring Road N40 as far as Ovens bridge, M8 as far as the toll plaza, the N25 as far as Junction 6 (Whitegate,) the N20 starting at The Commons Inn as far as the Killarney roundabout, the N71 as far as the end of the dual carriageway, all routes start at the Dunkettle interchange.
