Terms of Use

By accessing the Cork Safety Alerts mobile application (“the App”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, you must cease use of the App immediately.

We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at our sole discretion. Any changes will be indicated by updating the ‘Last Updated’ date at the top of this document. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of any revised terms.

The App is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. Users who are minors must have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you are a minor, your parent or guardian must read and agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to your use of the App.

Intellectual Property Rights

The App, including its source code, databases, functionality, software, design, audio, video, text, images (“Content”), and trademarks, service marks, and logos (“Marks”), is our proprietary property or is licensed to us. It is protected by copyright. Unauthorised use of the App or its Content for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited without our express written consent.

You are granted a limited license to access and use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may download, save, print, or screenshot portions of the Content for which you have gained legitimate access, strictly for personal use.

User Representations

By using the App, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms and Conditions.
• You are not under the age of 13.
• You are not a minor as per the laws of the Republic of Ireland, or have parental consent to use the App.
• You will not access the App through automated means, such as bots or scripts.
• You will not use the App for any illegal or unauthorised activities.
• You will not use the App while driving or operating any mechanically propelled vehicle. Failure to comply may result in legal consequences. In doing so, this is at your own sole risk and may result in prosecution, injury or even death.
• Your use of the App will not violate any applicable laws or regulations.

If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse future use of the App.

Prohibited Activities

You are strictly prohibited from the following:

• Systematically retrieving data to compile a database without our written permission.
• Making unauthorised use of the App, including collecting usernames and email addresses for unsolicited communication.
• Circumventing security features.
• Engaging in unauthorised framing or linking.
• Using the App for commercial endeavors unless expressly endorsed by us.

Failure to comply with these provisions may result in legal action and termination of your account.

User Reports & Submissions

You may submit reports or other contributions to the App. Such submissions may be made public and are considered non-confidential. By submitting content, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your contributions in any manner we see fit.

Advertisers

We may allow third-party advertisements on the App. We are not responsible for the content of these advertisements or any links they may contain.

App Management

We reserve the right to monitor the App for violations of these Terms and Conditions and to take appropriate legal action against violators. We may also modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice.

Term and Termination

These Terms and Conditions will remain in effect as long as you use the App. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the App for any breach of these terms or applicable laws.

Modifications and Interruptions

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

Disclaimer

The App is provided “as-is” and “as-available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitations of Liability

We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

User Data

We will maintain certain data for the performance of the App. We are not liable for any loss or corruption of such data.
